Welcome back to Legit Supplement Reviews, and this time I'm here to review JOCKO MOLK Protein Powder. Overall it's a really good protein powder for muscle gain with a unique blend of ingredients including whey protein concentrate, whey protein isolate, a probiotic blend, and an enzyme blend. I wouldn't say it's a great protein powder for baking, making ninja creami protein ice creams, or tasty protein powder shakes.

I would describe JOCKO MOLK Protein as a middle-to-upper of the line protein powder. The price point at $44.95 reflects that, making it it super affordable compared to premium protein powders like 1st Phorm Phormula-1 and Level-1 Protein, which costs upwards of $60.

The question becomes should you spend that extra $15 for a premium powder, or is JOCKO MOLK just as good as the "premium" protein powders? Let's find out!

KEY Takeaways Before Buying:

  • JOCKO MOLK is a really good protein powder for muscle gain.
  • One of the cleanest protein powders on the market.
  • Great protein source for keto-friendly eating.
  • Amino acids and digestive enzymes really give this product the edge.
  • Blends smoothly with no aftertaste.
  • One of the better options for baking high-protein, keto-friendly desserts.
  • While the price is higher than some protein powders, JOCKO MÖLK actually provides a good value compared to many competitors.

Product Description: JOCKO MOLK Protein

jocko with his protein powder

JOCKO MÖLK attempts to make a protein shake that fuels you up with a palatable flavor and smooth texture. Let's break down how this popular product does it! JOCKO MÖLK is made using a time-released blend of whey to promote slower digestion in your system. The theory behind this formulation is that it fuels muscle growth and recovery all day long instead of causing you to burn through your meal quickly. This is a keto-friendly formulation that contains no added sugars. It also stands out as the rare soy-free protein shake that actually helps you to feel full without fillers. Finally, the ingredient list is free of nut products. I personally like seeing that JOCKO MÖLK is produced in an FDA-approved, cGMP-compliant facility.

The way to use JOCKO MÖLK is to mix one 30.7-gram scoop into 6 ounces to 8 ounces of fluid daily. You can actually choose water, milk, or some other beverage. The most palatable way to drink JOCKO MÖLK is to add it to a chilled liquid. It tastes better cold compared to how it tastes at room temperature. Using a shaker or blender is recommended for getting a smooth, even distribution that's much easier to get down.

Available Flavors

JOCKO MÖLK is available in six flavors. You can choose from chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, chocolate peanut butter, mint chocolate, and banana cream.

Pros:

  • Contains no soy or nuts.
  • This is a keto-friendly protein powder.
  • No need to use multiple servings per day. This saves you time and money!
  • Uses time-released whey protein to help support muscles.
  • No added sugars or artificial sweeteners.
  • Contains digestive enzymes that help you to absorb protein.
  • Calories are low for the protein amount offered.
  • Contains probiotics to support gut health.

Cons:

  • More expensive than many other protein products on the market.
  • No "plain" flavor offered.

Reviewing JOCKO MÖLK's Formula & Ingredients

product - jocko molk

One of the reasons why the slightly higher price of this protein powder can be justified is that the ingredients used represent a much higher quality compared to most brands out there. The core ingredients that help to supply muscles with energy are whey concentrate, whey isolate, micellar casein, and egg. JOCKO MÖLK also blends in amino acids for muscle support. For those who don't already know, amino acids are the building blocks for protein that are essential for building muscle. The amino acid profile of JOCKO MÖLK contains alanine, arginine, aspartic acid, cysteine, glutamic acid, glycine, histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, proline, serine, threonine, tryptophane, tyrosine, and valine in amounts ranging from 326 to 3,535 milligrams per serving.

What impresses me most about this protein blend is that it really takes gut health into account when enhancing performance. JOCKO MÖLK contains digestive enzymes and probiotics that are important for gut health and immune function. I also want to point out that all of the protein in this blend comes from grass-fed protein sources that do not use hormones or soy. The sweet tastes of the different flavors available come from natural monk fruit instead of added sugar.

The Macros

Each one-scoop serving of JOCKO MÖLK contains 110 calories, 2.5 grams of fat, 50 milligrams of cholesterol, and 1 gram of carbohydrates. With 22 grams of protein, each scoop gives the average person around 44% of their daily requirement for protein. Sugar content is under 1 gram per serving.

The breakdown:

  • Calories: 110
  • Protein: 22g
  • Carbs: 1g
  • Fats: 2.5g

The Micros

In addition to the amino acids covered above, JOCKO MÖLK manages to pack in some impressive micronutrients that help to support the natural protein packed into each serving. Each serving contains 130 milligrams of calcium, 1.1 milligrams of iron, 100 milligrams of phosphorus, 35 milligrams of magnesium, and 70 milligrams of potassium. While none of the micronutrients in JOCKO MÖLK go past 10% of the daily value, they do give you a nice push in the right direction.

Taste

JOCKO MÖLK is not one of the tastier products out there in my opinion. The flavor should be seen as something pretty incredible when you consider that this is essentially a sugar-free shake product. However, it just didn't do it for me. I've had much better tasting protein powders out there. It kind of tastes like Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey, which is a cheaper protein powder.

I've read online that many people actually think that JOCKO MÖLK tastes a lot like Nesquik powder - I don't know about that... can't really agree. So, if you see that too, I wouldn't put too much weight into it.

While the mint chocolate chip and banana cream miss the mark a little bit when it comes to matching up with their intended flavors, they still aren't bad, but not something I would spend my money on any more.

Mixability

JOCKO MÖLK gets praise for mixing very smoothly into a variety of liquids. Honestly, this powder even tastes good with plain water. When properly mixed, it takes on a very smooth and luxurious texture. While you will get a better result if you use a shaker or mixer, JOCKO MÖLK isn't intolerable after just a quick spoon stirring the way that so many protein powders are!

How Does It Mix With Baking?

JOCKO MÖLK is commonly used to bake high-protein snacks and desserts. "MÖLK cookies" and protein balls that use Greek yogurt or bananas for firmness are popular. People also like to add this powder to Greek yogurt to make desserts. Finally, a lot of people actually add JOCKO MÖLK to their bulletproof-style coffee for added protein.

The bottom line is, it's just not that great of a "baking protein powder." There are much better options out there, including Clean Simple Eats and Level-1 Protein powder. JOCKO MOLK is really not a protein powder to bake with.

Can It Be Used as a Meal Replacement?

A lot of people do use JOCKO MÖLK as a keto-friendly meal replacement. Due to the high protein content, you may be able to get away with using this protein drink as a quick meal replacement on busy days. However, the formulation isn't necessarily complete enough to formally consider this a true meal replacement in any kind of sustainable way. The low fat and fiber content could leave you running out of fuel sooner than you anticipate. It's probably more realistic to consider this product to be a snack replacement that can be used to replace a high-protein snack that you might typically have on workout days.

Unbiased Customer Reviews

JOCKO MÖLK has tons of positive reviews online from real customers. On Amazon, the product has managed to reach just shy of a perfect five-star rating (4.6/5 stars, which is really good at amazon) based on more than 6,7000 reviews.

What are customers saying about JOCKO MÖLK?

Positive Reviews:

People love the low-carb, keto-friendly aspect of this product because it makes it easy to get in a high amount of protein without getting excessive sugar and carbs. The product also earns praise time after time for skipping the artificial sweeteners that often give people stomach issues or strong aftertastes. Reviewers also seem to really appreciate that JOCKO MÖLK blends easily without clumping.

Negative Reviews:

One customer complained about the product containing Reb M, a Stevia sweetener. However, JOCKO MOLK does not list it as an ingredient. And, with the whole erythritol debate going on in the supplement industry, this seems like they are hiding an ingredient people should know about before consuming. Not good in my opinion.

Other customers that gave JOCKO MOLK a 1/5 star rating complained about the taste, in particular the after taste, which has been described as "really bad."

Price and Where to Purchase

JOCKO MÖLK costs $44.95 for 31 servings when you order directly from the JOCKO Fuel website. If you sign up for monthly deliveries, the price drops to $40.45. While other retailers do sell this product, ordering directly from the manufacturer ensures quality. You can also purchase it at amazon!

Other Similar Protein Powders to Consider

JOCKO MÖLK is a big name that's part of a vast sea of competitors. Does any other brand do it better? Let's look at some other options to have on your protein-focused radar.

Vs. 1st Phorm Level-1

1st Phorm Level-1 is a meal replacement offering a comparable 24 grams of protein per scoop. However, this product lacks the probiotics and digestive enzymes that make JOCKO MÖLK such a powerhouse. Level-1 also disappoints me by throwing in tons of fillers, artificial flavoring, oils, dyes, and other problematic ingredients. At nearly $60 per container, 1st Phorm Level-1 is one to skip if you're looking for a clean and affordable protein supplement.

I think Phormula-1 is the better option if you're wanting to go with the 1st Phorm Brand.

Vs. Optimum Whey Gold Standard

Optimum Whey Gold Standard lays the groundwork properly by featuring 24 grams of high-quality whey protein. If you like to experiment with different flavors, you'll like that you have almost 20 different ones to choose from here! With each serving having around 130 calories and 1.5 grams of fat, the nutritional content is very similar to JOCKO MÖLK's formulation. However, you aren't getting the probiotics, enzymes, or amino acids. I also dislike the sucralose, seed oils, and artificial dye in this formulation. While a price of $33.99 makes this somewhat of a budget option, JOCKO MÖLK is still the better deal.

Vs. Transparent Labs Whey Protein

Offering 28 grams of grass-fed protein per serving with zero fat, this formulation is impressive. While calories, calcium, and micronutrients are similar to JOCKO MÖLK's formulation, this formula isn't quite as complete. Flavoring that comes from cocoa and stevia leaf makes Transparent Labs Whey Protein cleaner than 99% of protein powders out there. I will call this a top option if you want a filler-free protein powder. Having 10 flavors to choose from with this product is a plus! Ultimately, the $59.99 price could be hard to swallow for some.

Vs. Clean Simple Eats Protein Powder

I'm not sure that the 20 grams of protein per serving will cut it for you if you're looking for a high-protein muscle shake. If you're aiming for a lower protein level, I think you'll actually like that this formulation includes MCT oil and prebiotic fiber as part of a tasty blend. Stevia, monk fruit, sea salt, and coconut oil definitely give this powder more of a dessert-like texture and flavor. As a bonus, there's a digestive enzyme blend! While I don't have any issues with this powder, I do think that $59.99 is a little high for the protein level.

This is by far the best option for those looking for clean ingredients, an awesome protein powder for baking or even ninja creami protein ice cream recipes!

Final Thoughts

JOCKO MÖLK offers a clean formulation that's almost untouchable. The fact that the formulation adds probiotics, digestive enzymes, and comprehensive amino acids for a price that's actually lower than many inferior protein powders sort of seals the deal for me. Ultimately, this is one of the best products in this space. My only word of caution is that you may be disappointed if you try to get through the day using JOCKO MÖLK as a full meal because it doesn't necessarily have the fat and fiber needed to support your energy and satiation levels.

I personally prefer 1st Phorm Phormul-1 over JOCKO MOLK, but for those who want to build muscle mass at an affordable price point, JOCKO MOLK is a great option!
