My family has been using Hiya Kids Vitamins consistently for about 3 years now. When my daughter was 2 and my son was 4, I was looking for a multivitamin that I could give to both kids (most kids' multis are only approved for kids ages 4+). Hiya was a new company that not only catered to the ages of my kids but also presented a healthier alternative to the traditional gummy kids' vitamins.
My kids are both picky eaters who most certainly do not get proper amounts of the vitamins and minerals their bodies need during this critical time of growth and development, which is what led me to look for a multivitamin that they could both take and that I would feel good about giving them.
In this article, I’m sharing what my kids (now ages 5 & 7) think about Hiya, how they’ve expanded their kids’ supplement line, and why we continue to choose Hiya over other brands.

What Attracted Me to Hiya Kids Multivitamin
The first thing that attracted me to Hiya as a mom was the fact that they positioned themselves to be different from the dozens of kids’ vitamins that line store shelves. Hiya is not sold in stores, it’s a direct-to-consumer brand, and one of the first ones in the kid’s supplements space.
Hiya is bought directly from the brand’s official website, they include free shipping, 50% off your first order, and a subscription model that ensures your vitamins are delivered automatically and you don’t need to worry about your kid(s) having any gaps in coverage. So, from a convenience perspective, Hiya definitely had me sold.
Of course, I was also attracted to Hiya for a multitude of other reasons, especially the fact that it’s a chewable, not a gummy. While I’m not at all against gummy vitamins, reading Hiya’s explanation of why they believe a chewable is superior for kids’ health made a lot of sense to me. Plus, Hiya vitamins don’t contain any sugar or junk that’s found in most popular children’s vitamins. I figure my kids get enough of that stuff from their diet, I might as well do what I can to help make sure that their vitamins are at least a little cleaner and healthier.
Finally, from a nutritional standpoint, I really liked that Hiya chose just 15 key nutrients for developing kids. If you’ve ever looked at the back of a traditional kids’ vitamin at the drugstore, most of them have a laundry list of ingredients, many of which have quantities that are far beyond the recommended daily allowance. Hiya seemed to be super intentional with their formula, only including the vitamins and minerals that are scientifically backed for kids health.
Our First Order
I went ahead and ordered two 30-day supplies of Hiya to accommodate both of my children. The package arrived quickly and inside I was surprised to find that Hiya didn’t use plastic bottles, they actually send you a re-usable glass bottle. But the best part was that they also sent stickers with the bottles so that my kids could decorate them how they wanted. Both of my children enjoyed decorating their bottles, so that was a really fun little perk to get the kids excited about their new vitamins.
Reading the label, I discovered that the dosage was just one chewable tablet per day. This could be good or bad. On one hand, it’s great because this supplement is super low maintenance. On the other hand, most kids (mine included) feel like their daily vitamin is a treat, so the more the better.
Honestly. I was a bit skeptical about this supplement and whether or not my kids would like it due to the fact that it doesn’t contain any sugar, because they were definitely used to vitamins that had a little sugar in them. Thankfully, both of my kids truly love the flavors from Hiya! They even enjoy the fact that it’s chewable.
Refills
After our first month with Hiya, we decided to stick with it. Your purchase includes a subscription (which you can cancel at any time). Our next Hiya order came exactly a month after our first order and included two refill packs. All we needed to do was empty the refill packs into our kiddos already decorated glass bottle and we were good to go for the next month.
One thing that I thought was really noteworthy about the refills and the fact that they come monthly, not in 6 or 12-month dosages was the fact that the vitamins remain really fresh when you get them monthly. I believe the refill packets even say “fresh vitamins” on them. I’m not sure if this is really a thing or not, but I certainly feel good when I tear off the top a new month's worth of vitamins and empty them into my children’s vitamin bottles.
Results and Observations With Consistent Hiya Usage
I think things like multivitamins are really tough to quantify or pinpoint any specific “results.” However, I will note that both of my kids are in great health. Do they still get sick a time or two per year? Of course! But overall, I believe their health and immunity are improved thanks to our consistent supplementation with Hiya Vtiamins.
Taking Hiya’s Kid’s Multivitamins consistently has also allowed our family to explain, showcase, and educate our kids on the importance of our health and well-being. My husband and I also take daily multivitamins, so they not only see us taking ours, but they get to experience taking their own daily as well. We talk frequently about the importance of fueling our bodies with foods that nourish us and taking supplements that help us to further that cause.
Hiya’s Probiotics & Nighttime Support
After a couple of years of taking Hiya Multivitamins, Hiya introduced their Kid’s Probiotic supplement, which I thought was genius and very much needed in the kids’ supplements space!
I am a firm believer that everyone should be taking a probiotic supplement to keep their gut health in check as research is abundantly clear that the benefits of taking one go far beyond the gut, making a big impact on your overall health and wellness.
We tacked the Kid’s Probiotic onto our monthly subscription almost immediately as we already had a ton of trust in Hiya and wanted to check out their latest product. Again, it’s hard to quantify specific results from adding the probiotic to my kids’ routine, but the biggest difference I noticed was that they both seemed to start becoming more “regular” in the bathroom.
Both of my kids have dealt with occasional constipation during different times, so adding this probiotic made sense to me from that standpoint, and I definitely feel as though it helps keep things moving with more regularity for them. Plus, it’s really convenient and easy to just give them their probiotic tablet along with their multivitamin in the morning. And they love that they now get to enjoy two chewables instead of just one!
Hiya Bedtime is the very latest addition to the Hiya Kids supplement lineup and while we purchased it almost immediately, we haven’t had a chance to use it too many times yet.
Again, we’re already big fans of Hiya, so when we see a new supplement, it’s almost a no-brainer for us. What I like about the Bedtime Essentials is that it’s free of melatonin, which can potentially present some issues for kids. Personally, I feel like taking a melatonin supplement too consistently can lead to impairments in our body’s own ability to create and regulate melatonin, which is why I never give it to my kids.
Hiya’s Bedtime Essentials has zero melatonin, no drugs, and no sugar. It contains a handful of research-backed ingredients that don’t just knock your kid out, but rather help them to unwind, relax, and feel calm before going to sleep at night. Both of my kids are very active in sports and activities, and some of the late nights we experience can sometimes lead to restlessness. I have given my kids Bedtime Essentials on a couple of occasions thus far and feel as though they were able to drift to sleep a little faster and sleep more consistently throughout the night.
With our busy, connected lives, adults aren’t the only ones who are finding themselves struggling with disconnecting, winding down, and falling asleep easily. Kids are feeling this strain, too. If you’re a parent with a kiddo who is struggling with sleep, I would highly recommend checking out Hiya Bedtime Essentials and running it by your pediatrician. When I spoke with my kids’ pediatrician about giving Bedtime Essentials to my kids on occasion, she was more than comfortable with me doing so.
Keeping Up With Hiya
With my kids being 5 and 7, we’re still using Hiya’s products and will likely continue to do so for the foreseeable future. I am not sure if there’s an age limit on these vitamins (other than being appropriate for ages 2+?) but I plan to consult with my pediatrician as my kids get older to make sure that they’re keeping up with the recommended vitamins and minerals that are age-appropriate.
The convenience of the subscription has really allowed me to make sure that they aren’t getting any gaps. Truthfully, this is the most consistent we’ve ever been with supplements simply because I don’t have to remember to order more or to grab more at the store. I know a lot of people complain about subscriptions, but you can cancel at any time, so there really shouldn’t be a big issue there.
I like that Hiya has added a couple of additional supplements to their lineup, but hope that they don’t take things too far. I’ve seen so many supplement brands expand to the point of ridiculousness. As a mom, I just want my kids to get what they need, I don’t want to feel pressured or duped into something that’s unnecessary and just promoted to make money.
After a few years taking them, my kids really like hiya multivitamins.
Hiya is fantastic. We’ve tried them all but over here in our house it’s clear hiya is the best. Customers for life or at least until they’re adults lol.
